Ricolaia: The Name of Loyalty and Courage
Among the Tuscan hills, where the wind carries the scent of the land and the vineyards, an ancient story is passed down. A story of men, loyal dogs, and a land that, like a well-forged sword, knows how to be both tough and generous at the same time.
The Costantinis, known for centuries by the nickname Spadini, have always been tied to two symbols: the sword and the dog. The sword represents strength and determination, while the dog symbolizes unwavering loyalty. Among the stories passed down through the family, one tells of an ancestor who, after years spent away from his homeland, returned to Tuscany bringing with him his loyal dog, Ricolaia.
That dog was unlike any other: intelligent, silent, capable of sensing danger before it even appeared. It is said that it watched over the family vineyards, walking between the rows like an invisible guardian. On harvest nights, its breath blended with the sound of the wind through the leaves, almost keeping vigil over the ripe grapes, ready to be harvested.
When, in 2022, Giuseppe Costantini took charge of the family's historic Tuscan estate, he decided that the wine born from those lands would carry the name of that loyal guardian. Ricolàia is not just a wine: it is a tribute to tradition, patience, and dedication.
Aged in French oak barriques, with its enveloping and elegant character, Ricolaia embodies the same fierceness of one who knows how to wait for the right moment to reveal their strength.
Today, it is distributed in Rome by Cantina Costantini, carrying with it the taste of Tuscany and the memory of a loyalty that never fades.
